Writers:

Kathy Williamson has been a journalist for over a decade, serving as Entertainment/Lifestyles Editor and Managing Editor for the Los Angeles Sentinel newspaper and Editor in Chief for Our Weekly newspaper. She regularly contributes to the online news and entertainment community via LAStylin.com, EURWEB.com, 3BAAS.com and many other online, social media and print publications.


Producers:

Line Producer: Isidra Person-Lynn, is the CEO of House of the Rising Sons Media which provides video scriptwriting, voice-overs, web design and coordination as well as podcasting and blogging. She specializes in cable, corporate and Internet video production.

Also known as “The PR Person,” Isidra has represented a wide array of companies including the Angel City Classic, the Los Angeles Black Business Expo, WattsHealth Care Corporation, and T.H.E. Clinic, Inc. She also is an adjunct English instructor at West Los Angeles College. She is perhaps best known for her radio broadcast career most recently at KJLH FM and at KACE FM where she served as News and Public Affairs Director. There she hosted Sunday Morning Live and The People’s Connection.

An avid writer, Isidra studied English at Union College in Schenectady, New York and received her Master of Arts degree in journalism from the University of Southern California. Her first film project was recently released: Walking Tall, the Life and Wife of Walt Walker, which she wrote, narrated, co-produced and co-directed.


Field Crews:

Team One Director: Brian J. Murphy worked for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation during the 1996 Olympic Games. His job was to observe the daily competitions and select the best footage to be broadcasted later that night throughout Canada. After the commencement of the Games, he was hired by the Cable News Network (CNN) to perform similar duties.

Wanting to expand his entertainment experience, Murphy became a camera operator for the Georgia Dome, where he shot a variety of sporting events like NCAA basketball, Monster Trucks, USA Track & Field and NFL football games. Soon after, his experience behind the scenes landed him a job as a camera operator with the Atlanta Braves. During his time at the Braves, Murphy developed a relationship with the largest post-production and satellite Company in Atlanta, Crawford Communications. It was there that he oversaw the satellite transmission feeds for The Home & Garden Network, The Travel Channel, The Discovery Channel and Country Music Television. He also continued his camera work with major networks such as: NBC, ABC, CBS, ESPN, CNN, TBS and PBS.

William N. Byers, Jr. - Owner, Explorer Studios, Inc. and Executive Producer, Colorful OC

William N. Byers Jr. is an award-winning videographer and film maker, and owner of Explorer Studios, Inc. William has shot, directed and produced hundreds of corporate videos, documentaries and travel stories around the world. One of his latest projects, Walking Tall: The Life and Wife of Walt Walker, was nominated for Best Short Documentary in the 2008 Pan African Film and Arts Festival. His other recent projects include, How to Celebrate the African American Holiday Kwanzaa: A Teacher’s Guide and Connecting the Dots featuring George C. Fraser.

In a new partnership, Orange County Black Chamber Education Foundation and Explorer Studios, Inc. has agreed to produce a minimum of 16 episodes (bi-weekly airing) of the ground-breaking new TV series, Colorful OC for broadcast on PBS.
